Engagement photo

I think the process in getting the right photographers to capture the moments and picturing our personality in frames is quite tricky. There were some photographers I've looked around - mostly from my friend’s weddings, but getting the one that fit the budget was hard.

We finally choose Maximus photography. I was a bit hesitated when Ci Lina and I went to met Debbie (owner) and saw their portfolio, somehow they are not convincing enough, not until I saw some of their recent shoots (in the editing room).  They are pretty nice and suite with the style I was looking for.

The next meeting was a month after that.  I met with Toto and the photographer - Putra. Saw his latest shots for a prewed session in Singapore and they are pretty awesome. I've told him that I would like to have more elegant yet quirky vintage like style. Shoots will be much more to the details and moments rather than faces of guests.

And so... the day was here! We just had our engagement photo session yesterday. Had my first trial make up by Dony Liem in the morning - natural look with smoky eyes. Was is great? I don't know.. maybe I don't have the 'model' look, so I thought it was ok. But he told me just before we left I looked like Syahrini (What?!! Damn it!!) and in the D-day will be much better.

Trapped in an unavoidable traffic jam in Jakarta and late about 30minutes for photo session. After Putra and his team saw the costume he decided to start with the light purple dress - which has little drama when we made the dress, I'll tell you in other post.  Started with a weird feeling and rigid pose, Mr Chai and I tried to act normal as much as possible. Pose with this flowing dress was a weird session! Kissing pose in the middle of the corridor in Indochine and I couldn’t forget how we act very very very un-normal in the bar.

The second session was more like preppy and vintage look. I was wearing white floral dress from Zara and I know Putra loves it because the texture – which Mr Chai and I love too..  We had lots of staged poses and more details shoots this time. I had a quick look at one of the shoots, they looks great. All the wallpaper, wall pattern, colour and floor in Indochine helps a lot in giving the texture in the pictures.

We kind of run out of time because of the traffic jam again as we heading out to Pantai Indah Kapuk for the second site photos. Canceled taking photo in Wisata Alam PIK because they charged in unreasonable price for 30minutes. And didn’t want to loose time we made a quick turn around to a wide empty land in front of PIK hospital. Here some snap shoots from Lenie’s camera. We were wearing bright yellow tops and light blue jeans. Weird eh… hahahahaha
Putra gave his best shots until we lost the sun and that’s a wrap!!

Anyway, doubts are still there, but I finally brave enough just to go with the flow. Whatever the result, it will be our memory – the unforgettable weird poses and acts…
