Save The Date

Mr.Chai's mom has been asking the right date for us, and we got the wedding date in August. So yea, it's official :)
I want to make this STD only after the venue is booked and tried to keep consistent with the green-brown colour.  These are some options for STD card, letter pressed on hardboard. The first option was printed on cardboard, but Mr Chai doesn't like it.

Venue Options

Alright, Ci Lina showed us around some places for "THE" venue in Jakarta. What become the consideration was the guest list are only for around 200 people, so we don't need a big place like ball room or something, because it is considered as a wedding rehearsal. It has to be casual, have lots of seating area, we also love outdoor and the place should have character. *grin...

Ok, here are the options in alphabetical order.

Indochine
FX'ntertainment Center F8

Why I love this place:
They have small open bar in outdoor decking area complete with some coconut palm trees! Grey, white and green.. then inside, how can you not love the chandelier, all those big floral print sofas and the purple curtain ceiling! This is so Baroque!

Cons:
- Since we are doing this party on Saturday and the venue is actually one of the 'It' club in Jakarta, so we only can use it until 10PM. It will be opened for public after that. Although I don't mind having after party, right?!...
- Most of the guests are mature people, we are not sure if they can have a great time in this place.
- Not easy parking place

OnFive
Grand Hyatt F5

Why I love this place:
The whole house! It's so simple, modern yet elegant.  Outdoor and indoor are both available for the party area. We could have this house the whole day, so guests could actually stay longer after the party. Food would be great and yummy for sure.
Not much decoration needed so the budget could go to other parts.

Cons:
- Costs a fortune

Sheraton Bandara
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport

Why I love this place:
The place is quite secluded. Getting into the hotel entrance, suddenly you can't hear and feel those crazy noise and traffic - except of the planes coming in and out. It's like you were not in Jakarta anymore. Lots of trees, I can actually see my whole family having a great time here.
And it is really close to my home.

Cons:
- It's totally outdoor. With the unpredictable weather around April-May, we are not sure if the weather will be friendly.
- Some people said the food is fairly plain.

Awesome Wedding Video

This video has the stop motion effect I like and kinda fun too..

Countdown Ticker

I just added a ticker in this blog. It's really important to know how many days left to prepare for the Big day.
Most of ticker sites are free such as wedding ticker from The Knot and Daisy Path. But I found an awesome site which allow you to create your own design, it's EZTicker.

Have a look at my monstera leaf ticker ...

Cake

Only one word: CUPCAKES
Look at these cupcakes! Don't you think this will be perfect or what?!

Flowers

The first rule I have for flower arrangement or decoration will be 'No Roses and No Orchid'. Why? I don't know. Maybe I feel Roses are just to girly and common. And although I know Orchid means Love and Strength, but I'm just not feeling it.

The only flower I want for a hand bouquet will be a long green Calla Lilies. Lucky I found this somewhere in the internet. Do you think I could get this for my hand bouquet?

And the rest of the decoration will use these flowers. See.. no roses and Orchid, they still look great!

Dresses

I dont know why, but unconsciously I always pick the dress in A-line shape with big ribbon on the back. A very simple one with minimum details. I've been browsing some websites and magazines, these are the dresses that I have in mind. I'm still searching but I think these pretty much fixed in my head.

Dresses are from The Dessy Group and David's Bridal
